I am an Eagle Scout, ranking 2LT in the US Army National Guard after graduating. I attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, minoring in Computer Science and even Defensive Studies. I earned my degree in Electrical Engineering.Throughout high school and college, I tutored students who needed help in Chemistry and Algebra. I started in my junior year. My enthusiasm for both teaching and learning made me realize I should tutor in additional subjects. I began offering help with Computer Programming, Calculus, and even Physics. I never give the answer away. Instead, I provide students with the tools they need to come up with the answer on their own. Math requires repetition in order to understand the concepts and gain the ability to solve future problems easier.Although there is not always one right answer for every question, especially when it comes to programming a computer, there is often a way that is best. Students are encouraged to solve the problem in their own way, and I then show them a better or easier way to get the job done. This helps them learn to work with others and think of alternative methods for finding a solution. This is an important lesson not only for school, but also the outside world.
